Name of the Department: Department of Physics

The Department of physics was established in year 2008. ………… was the first head of the department. Initially started with B.Sc.(MPC) programs. In 2008 the department started a unique course B.Sc. MPC with physics. The main objective of this course was to meet the requirements of chemical, IT industry. The department is having its own building along with modern infrastructure like Library, Computer Lab, smart boards and Wi-Fi connection. There is only 1 faculty member actively engaged in the teaching, research and extension activities. Department has been offering courses in Pure and Applied physics subjects for many years. The thrust areas of the department are Discrete physics, Dynamical System, Classical Mechanics and Fluid Dynamics. Right from the inception of the department teachers were actively engaged in the research.  All the faculty members are having research publications in the reputed National and international journals. The department is regularly conducting guest lectures,community service projects, internship projects.  Department is having active NSS unit since 2016 and every year this unit conducts Blood donation camp, tree plantation, campus cleaning program and so on. Every year on 28th February, department celebrates National science Day on the occasion of Raman effect  invention anniversary of great Indian physicist sir C V  Raman. This program is supported by APCHE and AKNU. Different activities and competitions are organized for UG students. The department has made the continuous progress since its inception.

1. Dr M Surekha, MSc PhD worked from 2016 to Oct 2021

2. Dr D Lakshmi,MSc PhD worked from 2021 to August 2022

3. Sri UVBB Krishna Prasad has been working since August 2022  to till date.
